Logging On

Screen Capture
5. When you start up your computer now, you'll be asked to log in. If you're going to access your IT account at UCCS or a professor's account, click on your username to select it, enter your password, and click the OK button. If you don't need to access anyone's IT account, you may click the Cancel button.

6. If you've started up your computer and did not log in (clicked Cancel) and realize you need to access an IT account, click the Start button and select Log Off. After clicking the Yes button to confirm, you'll get the log in box. Follow the instructions in step 5.

To access your IT account or your professor's, click on the Start button and select Run. For your account, type \\excelsior\students\firstinitial\your IT user ID and click the OK button; e.g. for Jane Doe, it would be \\excelsior\students\j\jdoe. For a professor's account, type \\enterprise\users\faculty\your professor's IT user ID and click the OK button; e.g. for John Smith, it might be \\enterprise\users\faculty\jsmith2. Information for download is normally found in a professor's Outbox. Documents to submit to a professor should be put in his/her Inbox.

You do not need to log in to your computer to access your UCCS email account. Go to https://webmail.uccs.edu with a browser like Internet Explorer. (Note it's https, not http. This is secure server that prevents others from capturing your password when entered. Recommend you save the address in your Favorites.) For instructions on Webmail, go to http://www.uccs.edu/helpdesk/webmail.htm.
