Accessing the Student Information System (SIS)

Last Update: 7/29/05

Important Note: These instructions are not for students accessing the SIS. Students need to access through the SIS Web Page. If you've forgotten your PIN, call 262-3361.

Uninstall SIS (if installed)

Screen Capture
1. If you are running the old version of SIS, it should be uninstalled before installing BlueZone. To do this, click on the Start button and navigate to Programs, TCP3270, and select Uninstall TCP3270.
Screen Capture
2. Select "Yes" in the dialogue box which will pop up.
Screen Capture
3. Select "OK" when the uninstall is complete.

Install Bluezone

4. Open Internet Explorer (other internet browsers may not work with BlueZone) and go to http://mainframe.cusys.edu. An icon will be placed on your desktop.

Screen Capture
5. To access BlueZone, click this icon. If you get any security warnings, you want to click Yes to install the software.

Potential Problem

6. If the icon wasn't installed on your desktop, you might need to make a change to Internet Explorer.

Screen Capture
7. Open up Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Then click on the Security tab.
Screen Capture
8. Click on the "Trusted Sites" icon, and then click on the "Sites..." button. In the box that pops up, please ensure that the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" checkbox is NOT checked.
Screen Capture
9. Type "http://mainframe.cusys.edu" (without the quotes) into the "Add this Web site to the zone" box and press the Add button.

10. Press the OK button on all open windows except Internet Explorer itself. Go to http://mainframe.cusys.edu to try installing BlueZone again.

Notes: You should not rename or delete the icon which has been placed on your desktop. (BlueZone will just add another icon.) Also, if multiple people use the same machine, each user must repeat this procedure under their own login.
