Downloading Ad-Aware

1. If you're on campus, go to http://www.uccs.edu/helpdesk/dnsoftware.htm to download Ad-Aware and go to the File Download window below. If you're off campus, go to http://www.download.com. The next three steps explain how to begin the download if you're off campus.

2. In the SEARCH box, type adaware and click the GO button.

3. In the list that's generated, find Ad-Aware SE Personal. It may not be the first item. The current version may be newer than the 1.06 shown. Click on the Ad-Aware name.

4. Ensure that the Publisher is Lavasoft. There are copycat programs that may add spyware to your computer. If it's correct, click on the Download Now link.

5. Click on the Save button.

6. Click on the Desktop icon to the left and click the Save button.

7. When it finishes downloading, click the Close button.

8. Close the windows and locate the aaw installer icon on the Desktop. Double-click the icon to start the installation. Accept the defaults of each window to install Ad-aware.

9. Go to http://www.uccs.edu/helpdesk/aarun.htm for instructions on running this program.
