Jackie Francis

jfrancis@uccs.edu

I proudly graduated from UCCS in December of 2006 with a degree in International Business. During my undergraduate work, I was deeply committed to the university serving as the first president of Student Ambassadors, working for the Office of Student Retention, and volunteering on a regular basis. Immediately after graduation, I was hired as the Graduate Student Recruitment Coordinator. In the fall of 2007 I decided to begin my own graduate study in the MBA program. I quickly realized that although the program is fantastic, it just was not for me. I have always had a passion towards sociology, especially in the area of Women's Studies. Therefore, I decided to switch to the Sociology master's program and could not be more content with that decision. My ultimate professional goal is to go on to a PhD program and teach at the college level -- hopefully to return here to UCCS! Working with prospective and current graduate students in both my professional and personal life has given me the opportunity to see the need for more involvement from, and campus focus on the graduate school. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization and hope to see true change in the graduate environment.

Dan Szarkowski

My Name is Dan Szarkowski. I have been going to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs since the Fall of 2004 as an undergraduate. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering while working for Dr. Terry Boult at the Vision and Security Technologies Laboratory, where I work on projects that involve embedded systems and cameras.

I am also the Student Dean of Graduate School where I keep a working relationship between the Student Government Association, the Dean of Graduate School, and the Graduate Students of UCCS.

As a chair of the Graduate Student Association, I hope to bring graduate students back to UCCS while advocating for resources and events.
