ELIGIBILITY FOR VA BENEFITS:
You may be eligible for Chapter 30 ( GI Bill) educational benefits if you entered active duty for the first time after June 30, 1985, served continuously for three years, and were honorably discharged. Those members who have remaining entitlement under Chapter 34 on December 30, 1989 may also be eligible.
Students between the ages of 18 and 26 may be eligible for benefits due to the death of a parent on active duty or a parent with a service connected disability rated by the VA as 100 percent permanent and total. Benefits fall under Chapter 35 and will not exceed the normal single veteran rate of pay. Applications for VA benefits are available at the CU Colorado Springs OVA.
