RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Nutritional requirements for sport and exercise.
Diet and exercise influences on bone mineral content of female athletes.
Dietary requirements for older adults who participate in regular exercise.

ONGOING PROJECTS:

Bone mineral content of young female gymnasts: This study examines the
diet and bone mineral content of young female gymnasts and compares
them to age, weight, and height-matched controls.

The nutritional habits of elite baseball players: This ongoing project is
investigating the dietary habits of a minor league baseball team and how
nutrition education is changing their eating habits.

Nutritional supplementation in older adults with joint pain: This project will
investigate the role of a nutritional supplement in older adults who exercise
regularly to examine if joint pain can be relieved.
