Counseling/Health Psychology, Stanford University, 1992. RESEARCH INTERESTS: I am interested in the self-regulatory mechanisms involved in recovery from disaster or trauma. My current work also examines how older adults respond to disasters. I am also interested in the role of spirituality in health among the elderly. ONGOING PROJECTS: Coping Self-Efficacy and Distress: A one year follow-up to the Buffalo Creek Disasters. University of Colorado Committee on Research and Creative Work (CRCW) grant. Coping Self-Efficacy as a Prime Mediator for Older Adults following a Natural Disaster: This study is funded by the National Science Foundation Natural Hazards Research and Applications Information Center. Coping Self-Efficacy and Psychological Distress for Congestive Heart Failure Patients: The Re-Admission Problem. This research is funded by a grant from Centura Health/ Penrose St. Francis System.
