Colorado Living Learn about yourself and how you relate to Colorado's environment in the Colorado Living & Living Learning Community! |
|---|
What's your special outdoor place in Colorado Springs? Why do the rocks in the Garden of the Gods look the way they do? How do you and the people around affect our environment? If these are the questions that you ask yourself the Colorado Living and Learning Community is for you. The learning community is a combination of the Colorado Living section of Freshman Seminar and GES 101: Landforms. This learning community will combine an introspective look at how you fit into the outdoors of Colorado and an examination of the environmental factors that shape the physical environment of Colorado. The learning community will include field trips and outdoor activities, including overnight camping trips. There is a service-learning component to the classes. A variety of in-class activities will include readings, discussion, and the presentation of a creative work in order to generate deeper reflection about our place in Colorado and how we, and others, interact with it.
