Freshmen Seminar

Meta-what? This new Freshman Seminar on metacognition -- thinking about your thinking and learning about your learning -- will equip you to achieve your personal best, academically. John Adams, the second President of the United States, once wrote, "They know enough who know how to learn." College may well prepare your for a career that doesn't even exist right now: "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read or write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." Come learn how your own "cognitive machinery" works and how you can get in gear.

Unlike all other Freshman Seminar courses, MetaMind will begin on Tuesday, August 26, 2008.

This course should not be taken with ID 111.

  • Meets Tuesdays 4:30 - 7:05 p.m.
