Freshmen Seminar

Wednesday Nights at the Movies

Film critics have long debated this question: Does film reflect culture or create it? Tuesday Night at the Movies will use film as a medium to explore the virtues, values, and visions of the culture we live in. What do we prize? What problems do we face? What does film teach us about ourselves in terms of diversity of ethnicity, gender, and cultural identity? Through an array of selected films, this course will face the tough questions embedded in today’s complex world.

This course ends early on October 15th, 2008.

  • Meets Wednesdays 4:30 p.m.-8:05 p.m.
