Financial aid is disbursed the week prior to the beginning of classes each semester. To receive a timely financial aid disbursement you must enroll in a sufficient number of credit hours. Waitlisted courses do not count. You must also complete your financial aid file. Please note that awards are subject to change upon the completion of the financial aid file. Finally, you must meet satisfactory academic progress requirements.
The Financial Aid Office can re-evaluate your financial aid eligibility if you feel that your award is based upon incorrect or outdated information. The student must submit a request for change of financial aid and supplemental documents to support their appeal.
The Financial Aid Office sets up budgets reflecting the average cost for students to attend UCCS for one academic year, including tuition, fees and books. These budgets also include average room and board costs for the residence halls, costs to live off-campus, or costs to live with parents, and average costs for miscellaneous expenses and travel. Students can use the online budget calculator to view their estimated cost of attendance online.
Direct costs are the costs listed on the award letter. They are tuition, fees, books and room and board if living on-campus. Indirect costs are not listed on the award letter and can vary from student to student. They include travel, miscellaneous and room and board if not living on-campus.
UCCS Student Employment offers current students a unique opportunity to work convenient, on-campus jobs in addition to many off-campus opportunities.
Student employment is an excellent way to get connected with the campus, learn time management, and earn money in the process.
