Community Service Award
Criteria
Candidates will be judged on their record of exceptional educational, humanitarian, civic, or other service
to their community, external to the candidates' primary University responsibilities and for no
additional remuneration. Specific requirements are that the candidates:
- be full-time faculty members (including instructors) at UCCS,
- be in at least their third year at UCCS, and
- have not received the award previously.
Nomination
- Anyone may nominate the candidate; self nominations are accepted.
- Supporting materials are to be assembled by the nominator and must include:
- the nominating letter;
- a description of
the candidates community service
activities, written by the candidate (double-spaced, 1000-word maximum);
- two supporting letters from persons within the University community
who have direct knowledge of the nature and benefit of the community
service;
- two supporting letters from persons outside the University who have
direct knowledge of the nature and benefit of the community service;
- a copy of the nominee's current curriculum vitae;
- any other supporting materials related to the candidate's community
service activities.

be put together as a package and delivered to David Anderson, Chair, Campus

Nomination Deadline
Friday, November 6, 2009
Award
The winner of the Community Service Award will receive a custom-made
freestanding sculptured award and a check for $1,000 (less taxes). The award
will be presented at the Campus Awards Ceremony in May.
Funding
Funding for the Community Service Award is provided by the Provost.
