About Project Lead The Way

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a national program forming partnerships among public schools, higher education institutions and the private sector in order to encourage students to expand upon their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Through Pre-Engineering and Biomedical Sciences courses in high schools, and an integrated math, science, and technology curriculum in middle schools, the program seeks to provide students with the critical reasoning and problem-solving skills that will help them become successful leaders and to increase the quantity and quality of engineering and science students graduating from our educational system.

Requirements for High School Students to Receive Undergraduate Credit

Every student who enrolls for PLTW UCCS credit will receive a letter grade on his/her UCCS transcript. This grade will be determined by the following formula for his/her UCCS transcript (75% from the course grade) and (25% from the part "C" final assessment) from the project lead the way exam. If the student neglects to complete the PLTW exam this will constitute a zero and still constitutes as 25% of the students calculated UCCS grade.

Colorado Affiliate University for Project Lead The Way Since 2003

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is the Colorado Affiliate University for Project Lead The Way.

UCCS provides quality PLTW summer training for middle school and high school teachers, ongoing training, and networking opportunities throughout the school year. The campus also provides college engineering graduate credit opportunities for those middle and high school teachers that participate in summer training, and undergraduate engineering credit opportunities for high school students in PLTW-certified schools.
