Events Center Update 2/27/09

On Monday 3-2-09 we are going to start with the precast erection of the Event Center. With this activity, the amount of large truck traffic will be at a height for the project. Approximately 8-10 semi loads of precast or structural steel a day for the entire month of March will be delivered. Two cranes for precast erection will mobilize @ 5:00 a.m. Monday morning 3-2-09 with the 1st precast delivery being around 8:30 a.m. or so.
WHEN everything goes well we will set the 1st piece of precast at the North stair (along Mountain Lion Way) somewhere around 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.
Our truck route into the site will be through the Meadow Lane entrance and roundabout, turning up through the one-way along the east side of the Science building, pulling in towards Main Hall and then backing the truck down into the site in front of Dwire Hall. To get the empty truck out, it will need to go the wrong way down the one-way street by the Science building and back out through the roundabout. While the trucks are coming and going we will have a spotter or two looking out for pedestrians and stopping vehicles from coming up as the trucks go back down the one-way road.
