TEP (Teacher Education Program)

 
 


If you are interested in teaching at the K-12 level, this Teacher Education Program is for you. TEP (Teacher Education Program) is a competitive program that leads to provisional licensure in Elementary Classroom and Secondary in the fields of English, Spanish, mathematics, science, or social studies.

This program is a 1 year, intensive, full-time program with extensive field experience that will help you develop your teaching skills. You will begin the program in the summer semester and complete it the following spring semester. The program is a total of 40 semester hours. However, you will not receive graduate credits for this program.

Request information from School of Education or the LAS Advising office as early as your freshman year in your undergraduate degree, if possible, if you are thinking about applying to the TEP.

45 to 55 candidates are selected for the TEP program each year. Be sure to see how you can become a better prepared candidate by going to the admission page.

Advice will show you what core classes you need to take, what classes are available now, and what tests you will be required to take during the program Advising is extremely important.
