If you are interested in improving your teaching skills
with gifted and talented students, this Masters
Degree in Gifted and Talented Curriculum and Instruction
is for you. This program supports the belief that every
human being has a right to achieve his or her potential,
for the betterment of self and society. Classrooms hold
children with a wide variety of talent, and this program
teaches you to recognize the variety of learning levels
that exist, to teach to the wide spectrum of learners
using various techniques, and to accelerate the learning
in a regular classroom.
This program does not
provide certification, endorsement, or mandated
internships because the state of Colorado has no
requirements.
If you wish to work with
twice exceptional students, students with learning
disabilities, or you are expecting to move out of state,
see the Special
Education program. It will
provide you easier transition across the states.
This program is a total of 30 semester
hours.
Faculty will show you the coordinator of the Gifted and
Talented Program whom you will be dealing with directly.

Admissions will show you what you need to do to be
accepted into this program and what to do to start the
admission process.

Advice will show you what core classes you need to
take, what classes are available now, and what tests you
will be required to take during the program Advising is
extremely important.
