General emphasis leads to a Master of Arts degree in
Curriculum and Instruction. This program is designed for
licensed, practicing teachers or others who want to
continue developing their teaching skills.
This Master's degree does
not lead to a teaching license. If you are interested in
becoming a licensed teacher, go to Teacher Education.
In addition to increasing
your knowledge of current research on teaching and
learning and its contexts and to applying that current
research to practice, you have the opportunity to focus
on an area of interest that you choose whether Gifted and
Talented, Educational Computing and Technology, Reading,
Leadership, Science Education, Counseling and Human
Services, or Special Education. This program is a total
of 30 - semester hours.

dealing with directly.

accepted into this program and what to do to start the
admission process.

Advice will show you what core classes you need to
take, what classes are available now, and what tests you
will be required to take during the program Advising is
extremely important.
