Assistive Technology Lab (AT Lab)

Mission
- The goal of the Assistive Technology Lab is to enable students with disabilities to access computer systems,
information resources, and online services such as the World Wide Web and other Internet services.
- The lab also provides students with tools for both alternate access to print material and for writing.
Resources and Equipment
The AT Lab provides hardware and software for students with a qualifying physical,
visual and/or learning/reading disability. Four stations are available with a wide array of technologies.
Eligibility
All students with a qualifying disability are eligible to use the Assistive Technology Lab. Please contact
Disability Services if you have any questions regarding documentation.
Populations Served
- Physical Impairments: The AT Lab has the following hardware and software to accommodate
students with physical disabilities. A wide array of functional limitations can be addressed with the following
equipment:

- Power Height Adjustable Tables
- Fully Adjustable Articulating Monitor Arms
- Ergo Wrist Rests
- Tracker Pro (Head Controlled Mouse)
- Dragon Naturally Speaking (voice recognition software)
- Visual Impairments: Students with visual impairments can use one or more of the following
Assistive technologies:

- CCTVs (video magnifiers)
- Fully Adjustable Articulating Monitor Arms
- 20” Wide Screen Monitors
- ZoomCaps Keyboards
- InterPoint Braille Embosser
- Perkins Braille Writer
- JAWS for Windows (screen reader)
- Duxbury Braille Translator
- OmniPage Pro (scanning software)
- Zoomtext magnifier/screen reader
- Learning Disabilities: The following software is available for students with a variety of
learning and reading disabilities:

- Kurzweil 3000 (scanning & reading software)
- Dragon Naturally Speaking (voice recognition software)
