Who takes English 380?
English 380 is not for English majors only! Any student who likes to write, wants to improve writing abilities, wishes to develop tutoring and teaching skills, and enjoys working with an inspired group of students will benefit from Peer Tutoring. *You don't need to be a writing expert or grammarian to be a good tutor - just a willing learner.*

What will I get out of the class?
You will...

  • learn writing theory
  • learn discipline-specific writing strategies
  • learn about individual learning and cultural writing styles
  • gain hands-on experience in the Writing Center
  • develop computer skills
  • improve your own writing abilities
Those who complete English 380 are eligible for, but not guaranteed, ongoing employment in the Writing Center.

What have others who've taken the class said about it?
If you'd like to ask previous students more questions, feel free to e-mail the tutors at wrtgcntr@mail.uccs.edu.
If you'd like to ask the instructor a question, e-mail her at dodell@mail.uccs.edu.
