Biography
Katherine Giuffre is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Sociology Department at Colorado College. She is the author of Collective Creativity: Art and Society in the South Pacific as well as numerous scholarly articles on topics relating to social networks, the art world, and social deviance. She is a former member of the steering committee for the Social Science Research Council’s Committee on the Arts in New York and a former staff member of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her fields of expertise include social network analysis, the sociology of culture, sociological theory, and Polynesian society. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
