2010 SPA Leadership Conference at UCCS on April 8, 2010

 


CSGI will be co-sponsoring the Annual School of Public Affairs Leadership Conference at UCCS on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Our speakers will be best selling author David Osborne and strategy consultant Dr. Delore Zimmerman. There will be a charge for the event, but there will be a considerable discount for registering through CSGI.

This April 10 New York Times editorial begins: "When Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who is not exactly a renowned civil libertarian, says the Patriot Act may need some adjustments, it clearly has serious problems. The act, which was rushed through Congress after the September 11 attacks, gives government too much power to invade the privacy of ordinary Americans and otherwise trample on their rights. Former Mayor to Teach at UCCS
January 28, 2004
Former Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace will teach two courses this spring semester at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs - Politics and Policy in State and Local Communities and Urban Politics. For the State and Local course, Ms. Makepeace will use the 2003 edition of Colorados Government authored by the late Dr. Robert S. Lorch and published by the Center for the Study of Government and the Individual.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO Three pre-law students at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs were named Best Prosecuting Team at a mock trial last month at the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law conference in Washington, D.C.

CSGI 2003 Grant RecipientsDr. James A. Null, Executive Director of the U.C.C.S. Center for the Study of Government and the Individual awarded 5 grants totaling $26,650. Grant award recipients will start working on their projects during the summer and complete them by next May.
