Alberto Gonzales, who is not exactly a renowned civil libertarian, says the Patriot
Act may need some adjustments, it clearly has serious problems. The
act, which was rushed through Congress after the September 11 attacks, gives
government too much power to invade the privacy of ordinary Americans and
otherwise trample on their rights. Congress, which is now reviewing the act,

Former Mayor to Teach at UCCS

Former Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace will teach two courses this spring semester at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs - Politics and Policy in State and Local Communities and Urban Politics. For the State and Local course, Ms. Makepeace will use the 2003 edition of Colorados Government authored by the late Dr. Robert S. Lorch and published by the Center for the Study of Government and the Individual.

CSGI Grants for 2003-2004
