Never Give Up!

James Humes“Never give up!” is an unforgettable experience that brings to audiences the wit, personality and bulldog determination of the twentieth century’s greatest leader, Winston Churchill.

James Humes has delivered this one-man show before audiences at the White House, the Smithsonian and the U.S. Senate, as well as before members of the Royal Family.  The performance will bring laughter to listeners’ lips and tears to their eyes, but most of all they leave inspired.  Humes’ television adaptation “Blood, Sweat and Tears” appeared on PBS in 1986.

In February, 1994, Humes delivered this one-man show to an audience of ten:  President and Mrs. Reagan, President and Mrs. Ford, General and Mrs. Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and Mrs. George Schultz at the home of Ambassador Walter Annenberg at Palm Springs, California.

Humes, who met Churchill, knows the Churchill family and has written four books about the British Prime Minister.  Churchill and Eisenhower:  The Partnership that Saved the World was released in June 2001 with a Foreword by David Eisenhower.  Humes’ biography, Churchill:  Speaker of the Century, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.  Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said of Humes’ Wit and Wisdom of Winston Churchill, “I carry it with me all the time.”  Another book by Humes is The Sir Winston Method:  The Language of Leadership.

In part for his books and talks on Churchill around the world, Queen Elizabeth decorated Humes in 1994.  He was awarded the Order of the British Empire.  He was also elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  Humes Also serves on the board of the International Churchill Society.
