Limited Government Week 2008

Limited Government Week 2008 was held on April 28-30, 2008 at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event was sponsored by The Limited Government Week Forum and The Center for the Study of Government and the Individual.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday evening, April 28: The world according to Chuck Asay. LGW kicked off with nationally-syndicated and longtime Gazette editorial cartoonist Chuck Asay bringing his humorous, provocative, thought-provoking creations, and limited government ideas, to the big screen. Event included a gallery show/cocktail reception and question and answer period. 
  • Tuesday, April 29. “American Healthcare: Is more government the ailment or the cure?” This was a daylong look at the nation’s healthcare challenges, and discussion about what to do about them, from a local, state and national perspective.  9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Mountain Conference Resort.
     
  • Tuesday evening, April 29: “Freedom and its Enemies: a speech by ABC Newsman John Stossel.”  Best-selling author and television journalist John Stossel delivered the LGW keynote address. 
  • Wednesday, April 30: “Civic Innovators.”  This was a moderated discussion with Mr. Patrick Salerno and Dr. Randy Simmons.
