This was an evening spent with America's founding principles, a time to get reacquainted with freedom's fundamentals. The quarterly FPFM (Free People, Free Markets) series is a shock course in political economy. Past seminars have focused on the political part of political economy. The July 14th seminar focused on the economy part of political economy.

It was held on July14, 2009 at the Vanguard School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The cost was $25 per person.

You have a strong love of freedom. It's a natural part of being human. Yet too few Americans, of all ages truly understand the fundamentals of a free society. "Free People, Free Markets," was an evening seminar taught by Dr. Paul Prentice. It provided a concise and stimulating primer on the subject. The seminar was sponsored by The Limited Government Form, in keeping with their mission to advance civic and economic literacy in the Pikes Peak Region.

Dr. Paul PrenticeIn less time than it would take to watch Monday Night Football, Dr. Prentice pulled together the basic principles of liberty and a free market, using materials from the great thinkers and achievers who shaped America. He presented the moral and philosophic case for free-market capitalism, emphasized the critical role played by property rights and explained why economic and political freedom are interconnected. Free People, Free Markets broadened and deepened the understanding of freedom of those who attended, whether they were student, teacher, businessperson, or just interested citizens.

NOTE: On the first Tuesday of the first month of each calendar quarter (Jan., Apr., Jul., Oct.) the regular PPEC monthly meeting is replaced by a 3-hour seminar, Free People, Free Markets. The seminar first makes the moral and philosophic case for free-market capitalism, then presents the foundational principles of political economy. Free People, Free Markets is a summary of a longer course offered at the Independence Institute, and is presented in Colorado Springs by Dr. Paul Prentice.
