The title of this talk is, "Can God Save the Queen? Late Princess Di and the Future of the Monarchy." This is a revealing and rollicking talk by royal insider James C. Humes who describes the late Princess Diana, her divorce and her relations with the Queen. Humes was educated in England and has met Charles and Diana and many of the royal Family. In fact, he once danced wit the Queen. He knows many of the couple’s closest friends during the marriage. And, he has also met Camilla Parker-Bowes, the inamorata of Charles.
With wit and insight, Humes divulges what led to the break-up between Prince Charles and Diana and how their marriage was doomed from the onset. Humes illuminates his talk with his inside secrets of recent as well as past royal affairs and intrigues. He also predicts the immediate and future of the Monarchy and who will succeed the Queen.
Humes is a student of English history. For his biographies of Churchill and Shakespeare, as well as his addresses to hundreds of audiences in America, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Humes was decorated by Queen Elizabeth in June 1994 at the Queen’s birthday honors with an Order of the British Empire.
