As part of Limited Government Week 2007, CSGI hosted a dinner conversation forum on Eminent Domain with speakers Carolynne White, Steven Greenhut, and Thomas DiLorenzo.
We have witnessed attempts at the taking of private land in Colorado. There is the case of the Palmer Lake School District's attempt at acquisition of a long time owned family ranch acreage for a new school building in the Monument Hill area, the case of the private toll road company's attempt to acquire acreage running north south on the eastern plains and the case of Fort Carson's attempt to acquire 418,000 expansion acres to add to the army base for its training needs.
In the light of these attempts and the focus in our area on Eminent Domain, it was appropriate for the Center for the Study of Government and the Individual to offer a forum on the subject. As part of our 2007 Limited Government Week Forum (April 30th - May 5th) we added an Eminent Domain event on May 2nd. [Click for a PDF of brochure]
