What does it mean to be a commuter/off campus student?

Do you live in a residence hall on the UCCS campus?  If you answered no, then you are indeed a commuter student.  Commuting to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs may entail catching a bus, riding a bike, walking, or driving a car.  Essentially, if you live off campus, we consider you to be a commuter.  Nationwide, over 87% of college students commute to campus...you should know you are not alone!

Whether you adopt the term "commuter/off campus student" as part of your identity, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is committed to enhancing your collegiate experience and helping you succeed in both your academic and out-of-class endeavors.

Commuter/off campus students represent the majority at UCCS.  There are approximately 8,000 students here, of which approximately 900 live in university owned housing which leaves approximately 7,100 who are commuters/off campus students.
