~ Background Information ~

Dr. Stephanie Blake is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication.  She received her Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. in public relations from the University of Denver.  Dr. Blake’s professional experience in public relations focused on the nonprofit and special events arenas.  Prior experience includes work with the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Junior Achievement – Rocky Mountain, Inc. and Citigate Cunningham. Her research interests include gender and media and political economy and media.  Specifically, she recently has been interested in media constructions of gender, dating, marriage and romantic love and their intersections with conditions of political economy.
