CRTLC 2009

The 4th annual Culturally Responsive Teaching, Leadership, and Counselling Symposium is set to take place on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at UCCS. This year the theme is "From Innovation to Action."

The College of Education at UCCS, led by Dean La Vonne Neal, would like to invite you to a K-12 symposium developed for local teachers, counselors, and administrators. Come and interact with national experts in the areas of culturally responsive teaching, leadership, and counseling.

Speakers will share instructional strategies and currcula specifically designed to meet the needs of all students, particularly students from diverse cultural backgrounds, students receiving special education services, and students of color.

Galileo Project to begin

The UCCS - Galileo Middle School Partnership (D11) is a collaboration between the College of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the middle school specifically involving Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT).

Dr. Barbara Swaby Endowed Professorship - Fundraising Campaign

In collaboration with the University of Colorado Foundation and the College of Education, this endowed professorship honors not only Dr. Swaby, but the individual who will hold this position.

Dr. Barbara Swaby has been changing lives one child at a time. For more than 30 years, she has worked with thousands of children. Her contributions and accomplishments span the local, state, national, and international levels. [more]
