Special education is a unique and challenging profession.
Candidates in special education learn to teach students the skills needed to fully participate in their school, community, and workplace.
Course work combines on-campus learning with field learning experiences to prepare candidates to work with people with disabilities ages 5 to 21.
Special Educators plan and deliver instruction designed to meet each student's individual needs.
Special educators have opportunities to work with individual students, co-teach within general education classrooms, consult with general educators, accommodate and modify general education curricula, and collaborate with parents and other professionals.
