Overview

The possibilities in International Education are steadily increasing as the world continues to interact and exchange more as a global community.  The UCCS College of Education (COE) is preparing to respond to this international globalization by establishing an Office of Global Education (OGE) under the department of Extended Studies.  Drawing upon our experience in partnering with Yeungjin College of South Korea to open the Daegu English Village, COE plans to add several new international programs within the next three years.

Goals and Objectives

Given that the establishment of International programs supports the strategic plan of the UCCS campus, The College of Education is moving forward with a plan for the development of educational programs and partnerships that:

1) cultivate and develop a global learning environment for the 21st century, and

2) establish an environment which provides experiential English education for global citizens within their own culture.  To that end, we have determined the following goals:

  • To increase the international programs offered by the College of Education in order to enhance the reputation of COE as a global college.
  • To increase revenue for investment at a time when state funding of public universities continues to decline.
  • To increase C1 enrollment by attracting American students wanting international possibilities, and by increasing our international student population.
  • To establish academic programs that will offer international research, exchange, or scholarship programs for students, faculty, and staff.
  • To seek international partnerships or collaborations that will offer opportunities for global exchange among universities and campuses.
