Congratulations to Drs. Cheesman, Crawford, and De Pry of the Department of Special Education for their recent publications in the 3rd Edition of the Encyclopedia of Special Education. The Encyclopedia of Special Education is a 3 volume, 2100 page work that is considered to be the preeminent reference work in field of special education and is found in libraries around the world. Dr. De Pry also served as a contributing editor for the encyclopedia editing over 100 entries on topics such as applied behavior analysis, positive behavior support, and emotional and behavioral disorders. Laura Marshall will present, Goal Attainment: Teaching the Crucial Self-Determination Skill at the Council for Exceptional Children's Annual Convention April 18-21, 2007.

Larry Bryant, assistant professor, Education, will present “Tryin’ to Catch Me Ridin’ Dirty: Is Special Education an Avenue for Racial Profiling” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting in Chicago.

Dick Carpenter, assistant professor, Education, will present “Modeling the Charter School Landscape” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting in Chicago.

  • Nadyne Guzmán, Ph.D. Professor Emerita and Rod Schofield, Ed.D. of Effectiveness Associates presented a paper at the Sixth Annual International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities, and Nations, June 12-15, 2006, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The paper, entitled "Cultural Competence and Conflict Resolution in School Reform: Observations from the West Bank" has been submitted for publication to The International Journal of Diversity in Organisatons, Communities and Nations.
