Randall L. De Pry (Ph.D., University of Oregon) serves as the Department Chair and Associate Professor of Special Education at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He specializes in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) for children, youth, and adults with challenging behavior and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Classroom and Instructional Management (SPED 3003/5003), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SPED 4021/5021), and the Applied Research Project course (SPED 5090).

Dr. De Pry has published in the areas of positive behavioral support, social skills instruction, self-determination, and character education. In 2003 he co-authored a book with Elaine Fletcher-Janzen titled Teaching Social Competence and Character: An IEP Planner with Goals, Objectives, and Interventions. He recently served as a contributing editor for The Special Education Almanac (2006) and as a member of the Board of Consulting Editors for the Third Edition of the Encyclopedia of Special Education: A Reference for the Education of Children, Adolescents, and Adults with Disabilities and Other Exceptional Individuals (2007) published by John Wiley & Sons. Dr. De Pry currently serves as a field associate for Beyond Behavior, a peer-reviewed journal for the Council for Children with Behavior Disorders.

Dr. De Pry is a well known trainer / consultant and presents frequently at national and state conferences. He works with schools and districts throughout the region on the implementation of PBS at the school-wide and individual student levels. In addition, he is a member of the state leadership team for the Colorado School-wide Positive Behavior Support Initiative and a member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Positive Behavior Support (APBS).
