Q: Is financial aid available for Online Programs?

A: There is some financial aid available for some online programs as well as alternative school loans. Please visit the Registration / Financial Aid page for details.


Q: I am an interested in offering a course. What is the procedure?

A: If you are interested in offering a course for credit, please peruse the Teaching Opportunities link above, and then contact our office to talk about what option would be best for you.


Q: If I register for a class, will I receive confirmation that my registration has been received?

A: Once you have registered online you can check your schedule through the Student Online Center to confirm your enrollment.

Note: We do not send confirmations when we receive registrations for off-campus programs.


Q: Identity Theft is a growing concern; how does the University of Colorado Extended Studies department deal with these issues?

A: The online registration process provides a secure way for students to register and pay for courses through the Student Online Center. The online course registration system was implemented to secure identity information for our students.


Q: Are the courses offered by Extended Studies accredited?

A: Yes. The College of Education programs are fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and we are approved by the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Commission of Higher Education.

Q: How will I receive the grade for my class & how do I order a transcript?

A: Transcripts may be ordered through the Student Online Center.


Q:How do I receive a Student ID number?

A: If you have never registered through UCCS Extended Studies before or haven't enrolled in courses over the last three years; you will need to complete the Extended Studies Demographic Application. You will be emailed your Student ID number within 48 hours. If you have registered within the last three years, you may call the Extended Studies office to receive your Student ID number.


Q: If I am a degree seeking student on campus at UCCS, can I use my Student ID number and PIN number to register for Extended Studies courses?

A: Yes, but you will need to contact the Extended Studies office so that a term record can be created for Extended Studies to allow you to register. This usually only takes a few moments.


Q: I have my Student ID number, how do I get my PIN number?

A: Visit the Student Online Center and enter the Student Sign on page. Click to the left of the screen 'Forgot My Pin Number.' You will be asked for your Student ID number, enter it and then click submit. In moments your PIN number is emailed to your most current email account.


Q: I need to register for an Extended Studies course, but cannot find the course call number!

A: If you are a current Extended Studies student the course call numbers will be provided to you through the Extended Studies office or documentation that is sent out to individual programs.Call numbers for Extended Studies courses are not generally published through the course search/schedule in order for our office to track students better.
