English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs

The Adult Program will begin winter semester of 2008 (late December of 2007 to early February of 2008 dependent on Korean holiday schedule), Daegu English Village will offer two (2) Programs; ESL for Adults Program and ESL for Young Learners Program. These programs will be designed so that participants of previous sessions will be interested in further development and English learning in each upcoming session. These two programs will each be three (3) weeks in length. They will run during the school holiday break. Participants will study a total of 90 hours. The curriculum consists of twenty-four (24) intensive-class hours per week and six (6) situational-class hours per week. The expected number of participants of these two ESL programs will be a total of two hundred (200) each time.

Mandatory Metropolitan City English Program

Daegu Metropolitan City has contracted with Yeungjin and Daegu English Village to offer an English Experience Program, which is expected to start in the fall semester of 2007 (August). The 5 Night/6 Days program will be operated for 32 weeks a year with the guaranteed number two hundred (200) participants per week. Total class hours consist of 15 hours of situational classes and 15 hours of intensive ESL classes.

Weekend Family Experience Program

This program will operate for 32 weeks with one hundred and ninety five (195) participants expected per weekend. This program is expected to start in the fall semester of 2007 (August) and operate on 32 weekends throughout the Korean academic year (August to August). The programs will be designed so that participants of previous sessions will be interested in each new upcoming session. It is anticipated that the full-time instructors will each teach 16 weekends a year in this program. Additional compensation shall be provided for teaching in this program.

Children's Creativity Development Program

This program will be offered for 32 weeks with the expected number of participants of sixty (60) per week. This program is expected to start in the fall semester of 2007 (August).

The Situational Curricula

This curricula will be designed for exercising practical English in realistic settings such as the hospital, post office, and bank, etc.
