- UCCS, NISSSC AND CHS are featured in the 2009 edition of The Year in Homeland Security. Former CHS Associate Director Rick White, and current CHS Associate Director Kurt Johnson are extensively quoted in the article “An Education in Homeland Security” along with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and the National Defense University (NDU).
- The Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has accepted for publication an article authored by CHS Associate Director Kurt Johnson and former CHS Associate Director Andy Cain entitled Adaptation and Application of Federal Capabilities-Based Planning Models to Individual States: State of Colorado Case Study. The article arises out of research associated with an immersion project in the Colorado Governor’s Office of Homeland Security. You can read this article here.
- CHS Associate Director Kurt Johnson authored a chapter in the forthcoming book Legal Issues in the Struggle Against Terror entitled The Relations between Military and Civilian Authorities within the United States. The Center for National Security Law at the University of Virginia “assembled some of America’s most thoughtful and respected legal experts to address various aspects of the ongoing struggle against terror.” The book is scheduled for publication in February.
