Richard Hughbank, CHS instructor and Antiterrorism/Force Protection officer at the United States Air Force Academy, is facilitating an active shooter exercise involving a rogue student turned sniper. Purpose of scenario is to evaluate the Academy's current active shooter checklists, communications operations, emergency medical team response, and accountability of cadets and permanent party instructors after the threat is terminated. Through CHS relationships with the Air Force Academy and Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team, local tactical law enforcement deputies from Arapahoe County will be participating through observation and discussion in an effort to identify lessons learned and best practices for future successful operations.
