American, European and Asian civilization history, students can also choose
between less traditional courses, such as Twelth-Century Renaissance, the
Vietnam Wars, Understanding the Modern Middle-East, and Women in the American
West.
Historymajors
at UCCS gain an awareness of the variety of past human achievement and
perspective on how the world operates. History is as much about the future as
it is about the past: when we understand the historical forces that have
shaped our lives, we may move ahead to forge a new future. Knowledge of
history is often said to encompass both knowledge of past events and
historical thinking skills. In
addition to knowing factual historical events, history majors at UCCS gain a
versatile way of thinking allowing them careers in many other fields, such as
education, psychology, anthropology, law, foreign services, sociology, public
administration, business and politics.
