1.      Be open to all career opportunities

2.      Have a professional appearance and positive attitude

3.      Liberal Arts bachelors degrees are a great precursor to an MLS degree

4.      Keep your GPA up

5.      Apply at least one year before graduation

6.      Become involved with the community – volunteer your time – do what you can to help the disadvantaged communities/populations

7.      Sales experience, customer service and leadership skills are definitely a plus!

15.Have a resume ready and dressed to present a professional look.  Know your qualifications and experience.

17.Internships give great experience—be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way up

18.Relocation, while not required for a career, will make a candidate move up more quickly

19. Come prepared with resume; don't have Mom or Dad bring your resume to the job fair and represent you.

20.  Be self-motivated and accountable.

21.  Try to talk to most booths since most students are not familiar with what they want to do.  It could help them to understand what all these companies offer.

22.  You must sell yourself to companies, not vice-versa.

23.  Don't be afraid of hard work.
