Mission Statement (adapted from a previous LGBTIQ organization):

SPECTRUM is a student organization for and about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, transsexual, intersex, genderqueer, questioning, AND ALLY members of the UCCS community. SPECTRUM works to create a safe and supportive academic environment through providing education and advocacy for the needs and concerns of LGBTIQ students.

We strive to improve the UCCS campus by coordinating efforts across campus, providing outreach to students, engaging in political activism, and working to ensure the inclusion and integration of LGBTIQ issues campus-wide. Our goal is to enhance the UCCS campus community and to ensure the advancement of our students' academic pursuits by creating an open and affirming environment void of homophobia, heterosexism, and gender bias. Through providing educational, social, and supportive programming, SPECTRUM serves the entire campus community.
