Pre-Health Society

      The objective of the Society is to encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education in the study of medicine; to promote cooperation and contacts between medical and pre-medical students and educators in developing an adequate program of pre-medical education; to bind together similarly interested students; and to use its knowledge for the benefit of health organizations, charities, and the community.

      The members of the UCCS Pre-Health Society feel that learning about your society is the best way to introduce yourself to the organization. One of the goals of the officers is to ensure that all members develop an informative and enjoyable relationship with the UCCS Pre-Health Society. If we are not accomplishing this, please let us know!

• To inspire, encourage, and recognize scholastic excellence among pre-health students.
• To introduce members to various health-related fields.
• To provide outside affiliation opportunities with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) as well as provide the possibility for scholastic and extra-curricular involvement recognition through the pre-health honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED).
• To provide a program of service to the community that will include activities that benefit non-members and members, alike.
• To develop a network of friends with similar interests.
• To make information and advice available to pre-health students, so that they may make informed decisions about a career in the medical/health professions field and so that they may adequately prepare for such an undertaking.
