The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a professional society for people who work or have interest in applied Mathematics. The SIAM Student Chapter at UCCS has been active since Fall 2003.

SIAM sponsors a variety of activities, including field trips, guest speakers and many others. Also, in conjunction with other SIAM Student chapters in Colorado, SIAM organizes an annual student research conference, the Front Range Applied Mathematics Student Research Conference:

• 4th Conference: March 1, 2008
• 3rd Conference: March 3, 2007
• 2nd Conference: March 11, 2006
• 1st Conference: March 5, 2005

Our chapter also sends representatives to the SIAM Annual Meeting:

• 2009: Denver, Colorado
• 2008: San Diego, California
• 2007: Due to the quadrennial International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics in Zurich, Switzerland, there was no 2007 SIAM annual meeting.
• 2006: Boston, Massachusetts
• 2005: New Orleans, Louisiana
• 2004: Portland, Oregon
