The Math Club at UCCS is dedicated to promoting all facets of pure and applied mathematics on the UCCS campus and to increase the awareness of the opportunities that a degree in Mathematics can create both in academic and industrial environments.

The first officers and advisors meeting of the semester will be Wednesday, September 2 at 12:00 noon in Science and Engineering room B-113. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss possible activities for this semester. There will be pizza.
2009 SIAM Annual Meeting, July 6–10, Denver, Colorado
The annual meeting of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) provides a broad view of the state of the art in applied mathematics, computational science, and their applications through invited presentations, prize lectures, mini-symposia, and contributed papers and posters.
This year thanks to generous funding from the UCCS Student Government Association, the UCCS Mathematics Department, and SIAM we will be sending six math club members, including our own Tim Lewkow who will be presenting his talk "Line Soliton Solutions of the KP Equation."

2009 SIAM Front Range Student Conference, March 14, University of Colorado at Denver
This event allows students from all universities along the Front Range to learn about new developments in Applied Mathematics and promotes interest in the field.
The conference is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
The Math Club will pay the registration fee for members wishing to attend.

2009 Pikes Peak Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Conference, February 28, UCCS campus
The focus of this annual conference is to give undergraduate mathematics students an opportunity to present their work in a professional, supportive setting.
It is also an occasion for students to become acquainted with other students from the region, and to learn more about the mathematics profession, including graduate school and career opportunities.
