Pre-Semester Wilderness Trip

Start the semester out with the outdoor program on this 5 day backpacking and rafting trip.  Attempt some summit ascents in the Sangre de Cristo’s and end the trip on the infamous whitewater of the Arkansas River.

LABOR DAY - Backpacking in the Rockies

Spend the extended UCCS Labor Day weekend in the High Country with the SOLE program on this 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip in the Sawatch Range.

Rock Climbing

Take advantage of the wonderful climbing opportunities at Castlewood Canyon State Park with SOLE.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of rock climbing and gain exposure to the beauty of climbing.

Whitewater Kayaking

Come along with the outdoor program on this beginner’s kayaking trip.  We

 will travel down to the Arkansas River in Pueblo and learn the basics of

 whitewater kayaking.  (attendance at a kayak roll session is recommended)

Father Dyer Peak

This adventure to one of Colorado’s beautiful 13,000+ foot mountains will be a challenging and rewarding hike.  We will drive up to the mountains early Saturday morning for early for an Alpine start up this classic Class III scramble.  Be prepared for some exposure and semi-technical climbing.

Eleven Mile Reservoir Canoe, Campout & Climb

This overnight canoe trip will explore the reservoir and all it has to offer. 

We will spend the night along the shore at one of the State Park’s “boat-in

campsites.”   On Sunday, we will trade in our canoes for climbing shoes .

Pikes Peak Moonlight Hike

 Join SOLE for this unique experience to hike Pikes Peak via the light of the

Moon.  Come prepared for beautiful stars, a good time, and a solid hike.

 An excellent opportunity to learn more about mountain biking as we enjoy

the local trails in the neighboring “mountain biking oasis” of Palmer Park.

Sand Dunes ADVENTURE

Join SOLE on this late Fall adventure up to the Great Sand Dunes National Park.  We will spend the weekend camping amongst the dunes and getting

into many adventures…..skiing, snowboarding, hiking & Sledding?

Avalanche Awareness Clinic

An excellent opportunity to gain some experience in avalanche education.   We will spend the day on snowshoes and ski’s and dig snowpits!!
