City in Crisis: City Committee Mid-2011 Update

Join us for Business Networking & Success!
If you are to be successful in business, building strong connections is a key strategy.

Network with other alumni business leaders and learn about the City Committee's cost-saving recommendations for Colorado Springs. The Mid-2011 Update provides the status of these recommendations and looks at the business model for the City from 1995 out to 2020 to highlight additional actions required in the 2012 budget, and beyond, to secure a viable and sustainable financial model for the City and the future of our community.

The City Committee was founded as a result of Steve Bartolin, CEO of The Broadmoor Hotel, suggesting that City Council investigate the cost structure of the city as they evaluated the 2010 budget at the end of 2009. The City Committee concept was brought to reality by Chuck Fowler and Sean Paige and endorsed by the mayor and council in January 2010. The committee comprises senior executives from a wide range of business backgrounds. The primary role of the City Committee is to help the City of Colorado Springs provide the best possible services to the citizens in the most cost effective way possible. The City Committee has provided a series of briefings and recommendations to elected officials, city staff, civic leaders, community organizations and the media over the last twelve months.
