Please consider volunteering and contributing your unique skills to the College of Business Alumni Association. We’ve created a fun team of motivated, self-starters to organize events, programs, community involvement and communications. An organization of this caliber takes the dedication of select volunteers. Benefits for all of these positions include developing invaluable project management and leadership experience, working with a professional team and networking. If you are interested in serving with one of our teams, please contact Lisa Gilman through the contact box below.
NetworkingCommunity Outreach
More than 60% of our 8,000 graduates live along the Front
Range, creating the potential for a powerful advocate for business in
the Pikes Peak region. This team is focused on connecting community
business leaders with the College of Business, through major events and involvement in community initiatives. Read about a past project: Operation 6035.
Leadership Development
The College of Business Alumni Association has strong
leadership, and we want to maintain that strength by developing new
leaders. This group works in tandem with the other teams to identify
and recruit those who will bring fresh ideas and a desire to serve to
the organization, ensuring its future.
Mentoring
One of the key goals of the College of Business Alumni Association is
to help students build their career success. The mentoring team coordinates an annual Speed Mentoring event during which students and alumni meet with several experienced business people, for exploration of career choices and guidance in the transition from
student to business professional. The team also connects alumni and community members with students and faculty through the Executives in the Classroom program.
Fundraising
This team focuses on how to fund the objectives of the College of
Business Alumni Association, from recruiting sponsors for events and
newsletters to soliciting the investment of fellow alumni. If you
receive communication from the alumni association or attend an event,
this group has helped make it possible.
Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award Planning
Help us plan the major event in Colorado Springs that celebrates the legacy of entrepreneurship in our community. Each spring the College honors one individual who has made a significant impact on the Pikes Peak region through entrepreneurship and community involvement. This event is the biggest fundraiser for the College and supports scholarships, programs and events for students, alumni and community members.
Communications
Working with all teams to communicate our activities and news, this team contributes to our monthly e-newsletter, Open for Business, works on publicity and event invitations, and boosts our web presence through Facebook and LinkedIn.
