Beta Beta Beta
Phi Iota Chapter

What is Beta Beta Beta?
Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society is a society for students,
particularly undergraduates. It seeks to encourage scholarly attainment
in this field of learning by reserving its regular membership for
those who achieve superior academic records and for those who indicate
special aptitude for and major interest in the life sciences.
TriBeta was founded in 1922 at Oklahoma City University and became
a national organization in 1925. There are presently 385 chapters
in the USA with over 137,000 regular members. Chapters range in
size from 10 to 150 members. The national organization of TriBeta
granted a charter to install the CU-Colorado Springs chapter, Phi
Iota, in 1997.
Besides being an academic honor society, TriBeta is also an active
organization which undertakes both community and social activities.
TriBeta has three main purposes: to achieve academic excellence,
to promote scientific research, and to disseminate knowledge gained
by scientific research. To help with this last goal, TriBeta has
their own publication, BIOS, in which undergraduates are encouraged
to publish their original research.
