Levels of Assessment

There are four levels of assessment that take place at UCCS.

  1. Campus-wide
General Education Assessment occurs across all colleges and majors.

  2. Program-level
Individual academic units engage in assessment of student learning to determine whether they are meeting their stated program goals.

  3. Course-level
Course-level assessment focuses on helping departmental faculty gain a clearer understanding of how well the course design, material, and presentation are assisting the learning of course goals and objectives.

  4. Classroom-level
Faculty engage in Classroom Assessment of student learning to determine whether they are meeting their stated course and pedagogical goals.
