Our research is in the area of synthetic organic chemistry that features modern methodologies using transition metal catalysts to produce multicylic organic compounds that have specific spatial relationships. One of our goals is to produce synthetic sugar analogs with the potential for treating disease such as cancer and AIDS. A second area is in creating new experiments for organic lab students.
