Aleksandra Luszczynska, Ph.D.
Aleksandra Luszczynska received her Ph.D. in 2000 from
Warsaw University, Warsaw, Poland. She has been the visiting professor at Free
University Berlin, Germany, where she also stayed as the Alexander von
Humboldt Fellow. Since 2004 she has worked as a lecturer in psychology at University of
Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom. Additionally, she is an associate
professor at Warsaw
School of Social Psychology
, Poland.
Aleksandra is serving on 6 editorial boards of professional journals; currently she is the Editor-in-Chief of Anxiety, Stress, And Coping and the Associate Editor of Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being. In 2004 she was elected the next president of Division of Health Psychology, International Association of Applied Psychology
Her main interests focus on self-regulatory mechanisms (e.g., self-efficacy) promoting healthier lifestyle as well as well-being and quality of life among survivors of health-related traumatic events (e.g. cancer treatment and diagnosis, myocardial infraction, being infected with HIV). Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals from the area of health and applied psychology journals (including Health Psychology, Annals of Behavioural Medicine, Rehabilitation Psychology).
